Coastal climbing

Last month on the West Coast of the U.S., Tommy Caldwell and Kevin Jorgeson summitted El Capitan in Yosemite National Park in California, becoming the first to free climb a notoriously difficult section called the Dawn Wall. On the East Coast last month, ice climbers Will Gadd and Sarah Hueniken became the first to ascend Niagara Falls, scaling a strip of spray ice along the left edge of Horseshoe Falls between the United States and Canada. Gadd said after reaching the top, "The power of the falls is staggering, It vibrates your intestines and makes you feel very, very small. I've never experienced anything like it."
