Apes in capes

Graham and Jan Garen care for gibbons, baboons, capuchins, tamarins, mangabeys, and other primates from closed down zoos, laboratories, and the pet trade from across the U.K. and the world. The biomass boiler that provides heat at the Wales Ape and Monkey Sanctuary in Abercrave near Swansea broke down on Christmas Day, so they took extra measures to keep the animals warm until it could be repaired. Not a problem for this lady chimpanzee, who regularly dons a cape, gladly poses for photos, and enjoys an occasional cup of tea. One of our chimps Nakima loves blankets and wears them all the time but we had to share them out to all the monkeys."
