Steampunk apartment for sale

I saw this article in the weird news 1st thing this morning and it begged for some accompanying photographs, which weren't that hard to find...

If you've got $1.75 million, a penchant for steampunk design, and a desire to live in New York's Chelsea neighborhood, this co-op may be just your cup of tea. But hurry, because several potential buyers have shown interest since the property was listed on Tuesday. Here are the details:

120 West 29th Street #2
1800 sq. ft.
2 bedrooms incl. large, open loft
2 full bathrooms
Full kitchen w/stainless steel appliances
500 sq. ft. terrace

The front door has been remodeled to resemble a submarine. Miniature planes and a 32' illuminated zeppelin hang from the ceiling. The owner is 32-year-old screenwriter Jeremy Noritz, who used his experience as a welder and sculptor to transform the space. He explains, "I tried to create a workshop where I could live and work. The space plays with your expectations. I now have the opportunity to do some traveling and see some other places, and see if other people would want to live here." Noritz is jumping into an RV and going cross-country with his 2 cats to explore the national parks and work on personal projects. "It's not my typical listing - I don't think I've ever had anything so unusual. This definitely takes the cake," says real estate agent Parul Brahmbhatt, who will conduct an open house on Thursday.

  1. Fabulous! It was an incredible piece. But I think living there was cool and fabulous. I love the architectural design and how I wish to have this kind of place someday. I am looking forward to on your next fantastic post. Big thanks and keep posting.
