Yarn-bombing




There is a form of street art afoot and its practitioners ain't knittin' no slippers - rather, they are outfitting outdoor sculpture in Missouri with legwarmers (1st image), cozying up parking meters in Vancouver (2nd image), and wrapping bike racks in Berkeley (3rd image)! The movement of yarn-bombing - a.k.a. graffiti knitting, guerilla knitting, yarnstorming - has been around long enough to be defined on Wikipedia, discussed on NPR, and documented in a book.
