Environmental disaster

The as yet uncontrolled oil leaking at the rate of 200,000+ gallons per day from the underwater offshore well owned by Transocean Ltd. and operated by BP has begun to wash ashore at the mouth of the Mississippi River delta in Lousiana. These photos show the damage to waterfowl as a result of other oil spills, which are of course also detrimental to all the other marine and land animals and plants, the animals up the food chain that eat them, the livelihoods of those who harvest seafood, the infrastructure and economy of the affected area, and on and on...for years.
