Bride and groom

On May 15th in Ayia Napa, Cyprus, an English bridegroom about to get married jumped into a nearby swimming pool in his wedding garb to save the life of a woman who had sunk to the bottom after suffering a seizure. "I think my training just kicked in automatically. I got her out and did CPR. She'd turned blue and I had to get her breathing," said former Royal Navy diver Todd Sweeney.
On May 30th in Bridgeport, Connecticut, an American woman returning from her wedding ceremony alerted the occupants of a house that it was on fire. "She was doing her best to get everybody out," the deputy fire chief said of Georgette Fogarty-Clemons. "It's got to be a funny thing to end up doing that on your wedding day, in your wedding gown."
