Pathologist authors

I am reading Dissecting Death by Frederick Zugibe, who was Chief Medical Examiner of Rockland County, New York, for 34 years. I recognized the author's name because he also wrote The Cross and the Shroud: A Medical Inquiry into the Crucifixion, a fascinating study of this form of execution that remains in my permanent collection. My favorite author is pathologist F. Gonzalez-Crussi and my favorite of his books is Suspended Animation, which is illustrated with photographs by Rosamond Purcell.
