Yellowstone

A few years ago, I made a family trip to Yellowstone National Park (that's my dad I'm pictured with). As mentioned last night, my sister gave me the book Death in Yellowstone, which I read while I was there. Many stories of human stupidity (taunting animals, tossing boulders), but some very sad stories from the 1800s. Before the boardwalks were built, some women died because they would back up to look at one hotspring and accidentally fall into another. Even when they were pulled out immediately, the boiling water soaked into their many layers of petticoats and continued to burn them.
