Día de los Muertos
My sister and brother-in-law and I flew to Oaxaca, Mexico, for the Day of the Dead celebrations several years ago. Flight delays caused us to miss the cemetery festivities, and despite our best precautions, Nicholas and I got deathly ill. Nonetheless, we managed some sightseeing (Monte Albán) and haggled for numerous souvenirs (sugar skulls, etc.).
