On December 2nd, owners of G Adventures, a company offering travel expeditions all over the world, tweeted the photograph above, which shows a Gentoo penguin examining a GoPro camera they had set up on a visit to Antarctica. On the same day, an article ran linking to a video captured inadvertently by Aboriginal rangers, who had set up a motion-sensor camera on a river in Western Australia to capture images of fresh-water crocodiles. Months after it had gone missing, the camera was found 110 km away and the culprit – a juvenile sea eagle – recorded himself during the flight and after he landed. As Popular Science puts it, "...it has been a good week for incidental animal selfies."
