I did a lot of collage and assemblage for my B.A. in graphic design at U.Conn. and one of my influences was Robert Rauschenberg (1925-2008), who died this year. He will be commemorated with all the other celebrities in the annual media slideshows of the dead, but is best remembered for his art. Another favorite artist is Joseph Cornell (1903-1972)--I just found this website, which I look forward to exploring.
