Elephants eat Christmas trees!
It makes perfect sense, since their diet consists of vegetation, but I never knew that elephants were given Christmas trees as treats after the holidays! I know they like pumpkins, and many zoos offer those up after Halloween. I have been to the "Elephant Pumpkin Stomp" at the National Zoo a couple of times, but they have discontinued it on nutritional grounds. Not sure what their policy is on tannenbaums!
