The leader of the Greek Orthodox Church, Archbishop Christodoulos (1939-2008), died in January of this year. He lay in state for four days until the funeral was held. Other patriarchs, for instance Joakim III (1834-1912), Patriarch of Constantinople, have been enthroned for homage, which requires more painstaking preparation and preservation. Lying in state

I find it very interesting to see how people of other faiths do funerals. Not that one way is better than the other, it's just interesting to me. It's cool to see how much time, preparation, and care they put into funerals. I really appreciate you sharing this, gave me some great insights to see how this funeral was put on.
